Just a few kilometers from the hotel you will find some wonders: the château of Rueil Malmaison, the château of Saint-Germain en laye, Claude Debussy's chateau, the Island of Impressionnists. Chatou Island or Impressionist Island
Impressionist Island, located between Chatou and Rueil-Malmaison, was named after the many impressionist painters who came to the island in the second half of the 19th century.
Over the centuries, it was built up from many small islands which were linked together at the end of the 18th century to make the current stronger.
A dyke was built between the large island of Chatou and the small island of Le Chiard. Impressionist Island is the ideal place for a walk.
Fournaise Museum
Located on Impressionist Island in Chatou, in the former Fournaise house famous for its boating parties and its prestigious guests (Renoir, Caillebotte, Maupassant or Offenbach), the Fournaise museum shelters a collection of impressionist paintings which show the life in the house and the artistic activities in the area.
National Museum of Chateau de Malmaison
Located in Rueil-Malmaison, just 10 minutes from CERISE Chatou, the Château de Rueil-Malmaison evokes the different periods of the life of Napoléon Bonaparte and his wife Joséphine.
It has conserved an authentic character, even if some of the rooms were destroyed during the 1870 war, they have since been restored.
From the veranda which features different military conquests to the billiard room, through the music room decorated by contemporary paintings of the time, the Château has twelve rooms which you can visit.
Saint-Germain-en Laye Chateau
Just 10 minutes from CERISE Chatou, the Saint-Germain-en-Laye Chateau was one of the former residences of the Kings of France.
Today it is the National Archaeological Museau, including the National Museum of Antiquities. The museum contains more than three million objects of which 29 000 are exhibited and shows the evolution of human activities up until the time of Charlemagne.
Chatou has a treasure of tasty specialties.
You will find one of Yvelines' specialties: the Brillat Savarin, a triple cream cheese with a mild and creamy taste.
The town is also famous for its Ham Fair where producers exhibit their fare and special gourmet products from the area.
