By car

A6 from Paris: Exit 19. At the roundabout after the toll, follow signs for Moneteau D319 and then take the first right, Rue d’Athènes.

A6 from Lyon: Exit 19 Joigny-Migennes. At the roundabout after the toll, follow signs for Moneteau D319 and then take the first right, Rue d’Athènes.

N6 and from all other sources: Join the A6 Nord towards Paris.

From Auxerre St Gervais train station on foot

Take the bus (line E, direction IUT Porte de Paris) and get off at the Porte du Temple stop. Then take the bus (line F, direction Luxembourg) and get off at the Londres stop in front of the bowling alley. Finally, walk for three minutes to the hotel. Journey time: 20 minutes.

Don’t miss the historic centre of Auxerre with its 13th century Gothic cathedral of Saint Stephen and a visit to the old town in the footsteps of Cadet Roussel. In Guédelon, you can learn about the construction of a medieval castle. The Maison de Colette and the medieval village of Noyer sur Serein are also worth a visit. Château de Saint Fargeau - Historical Show

Listed as a Historic Monument, the Château de Saint Fargeau stands high above the town of the same name.

Discover the twin towers of Bar and Toucy at the entrance, the cour d'honneur and the grand staircase, the furnished apartments, the amazing tour du moulin, the ponds and large trees of the Parc du Château and the Salle des Gardes.

The Château de Saint Fargeau is also home to the "historical show". For an hour and a half, this sound and light show will take you through ten centuries of history in fifteen paintings.

Guédelon Medieval Construction Site

Under the eyes of many visitors, the Chantier Médieval de Guédelon rises step by step. More than fifty craftsmen are working to build a fortified castle using the techniques and materials available in the Middle Ages. This historical challenge is contributing to the knowledge of medieval military construction. Started in 1997, it is expected to be completed around 2025.

Burgundy Canal

Discover the Côte d'Or on the Canal de Bourgogne, opened to navigation in 1833. There are 189 stone locks along the 242 km of the canal, which passes through 28 municipalities and ports. The canal connects Migennes on the Yonne to Saint-Jean-de-Losne on the Saône.

Château de Ratilly

The Château de Ratilly (13th century) is an hour's drive from CERISE Auxerre.

Discreetly tucked away in the undergrowth of Treigny in Yonne, this true medieval stone fortress appears at the end of a small dirt road. Ornamented in the Renaissance, notably with a dovecote, it retains its four corner towers, two of which defend the bridge dominated by a 17th-century dome.

Since 1951, the Pierlot family has turned it into a place of exchange, expression and research in all artistic fields. Discover the permanent exhibitions of Puisaye sandstone and the living art centre (exhibitions, concerts, music and painting courses).

Château de Ratilly

Saint-Etienne d'Auxerre Cathedral

A masterpiece of medieval (5th-15th centuries) and modern (16th-18th centuries) art, Auxerre's Saint-Etienne cathedral has a Romanesque crypt, a vestige of the previous building. The frescoes of the famous Christ on horseback and Christ in Gothic splendour remain from an important mural decoration. The chapel of Our Lady of the Virtues (16th century) contains the choir and the sanctuary, which were restored in the 18th century.

Rooms must be vacated by 11 am, however we can store luggage on the day of departure. If you wish to stay in your room after 11 am, please enquire at reception about late check-out. We do not offer a luggage storage service.
