Le Grand Hôtel de la Plage offers 41 spacious and comfortable air-conditioned rooms, some with sea views. All rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV and a safe. Our teams will provide you with an energising breakfast to start your day in the right way. You can also enjoy your breakfast with hot items such as scrambled or hard-boiled eggs, smoked bacon and sausages.

Palmyre Zoo

In the heart of the Côte de Beauté and the beaches of the Charente-Maritime, a few dunes from Royan, lies one of the most famous zoological parks in Europe: Palmyre Zoo. Admire Gorillas, orangutans and chimpanzees in a three-hectare complex made up of four huge areas. A visitor corridor offers you panoramic views of the aviaries through large bay windows. Four large islands, each 1000m2, allow you to observe the animals in the open air on sunny days.

Fort Boyard

Fort Boyard was used as a prison before being decommissioned in 1913. Abandoned by the army, it was put up for sale for the first time in 1961. In the end, it was television that saved Fort Boyard.

Owned by the Charente-Maritime Departmental Council since 1989, it has enjoyed a national and international media career since the television programme Fort Boyard was first broadcast in 1990.
